Betta for new home

Post by MidnightRose on Sat Sep 17, 2011 3:35 am

Hi, I have a female betta, shes red and shes lonely. She lives on her own as the other ones i had died a few months back, and she's a little fighter. It's not fair on her to live on her own she deserves to live in a sority with other fish. So she is free to a new home. I want her to go to a good home.
Thanks for reading x

Hi you dont say whereabouts you live, or what the others died off? I have betta girls and as long as they can see other fish they seem fine...can you post a photo of her?

I live in warrington, and i don't think my tank cycled properly so they kept dying off. I tried my best though, its a shame on this fish though she looks depressed if a fish can be depressed? Urm, shes a pale red VT. I will try post a photo but my cameras no good x

Someone needs to show Natalie this post, she's in Wigan and has a sorority. I'd take her (I'm in Manchester, boyfriend is in St. Helens) but only have spaces for males unfortunately Sad

A fish can be depressed, though obviously in fish it's not as complex as depression in mammals. It's more just stress and boredom which can make them vulnerable to illness.

Do females get on in community tanks? I have space in my big planted tank that has mostly catfish and loaches with just two elderly danios. If so I could pick her up after uni one day? Unless anybody else has a sorority going that is..
(ps, If you want to get in touch, it's best to PM Kally, rather than me because I'm up to my gills in uni work)

The planted tank is lovely, and there's no boisterous fish in there which would nip at her. MidnightRose, if you'd like us to give her a new home Paul (cowboy) can pick her up, drop one of us a message. This is the tank:
