Betta news

Post by Better than Betta on Mon Jan 10, 2011 10:46 pm

Im so excited I have to tell everyone. The aquarium shop I go to has advised me that he is importing in 100 A grade bettas. They will arrive in Cairns on the 12th Jan. They have to stay in quarantine for 2 weeks then they will be on sale........get this he said the colours will be red, blue and GREEN!!!!!!! I have never seen a green betta. Has anyone got a green betta if so please show photo. He didn't specify the breed he just said they are A grade. Im so excited a GREEN betta can't wait.

Shocked Oh oh Goody goody. We will have to camp out and rush in to pick and get them to hold the ones we want hehe... even if they have to stay in the pet shop for a while to be quarantined! I'm so excited Smile We need Green Better than Betta.. it's pretty much all we don't have. Maybe one of our frys will be green haha I wish. Heres a couple pics i saw on the internet. But generally like F.Banks said most of the green Betta pics appear that turquoise color.

I'll try again! It was supposed to a quote not multi-quote and I didn't notice.

You mean like the green at the base of my black&red finned CT. If you want
to see go to showcase its titled "New Tenant" on July 8th. Hes the one I
named in honor of your old warhorse Ragga Muffin if you remember.

That second picture has either been messed with or taken in very weird lighting conditions. Bubblenests aren't yellow - the yellow has been poorly enhanced on the picture to make the fish look more green.

I've definitely never seen one that bright, and officially green is not a recognised colour for bettas, only turquoise. The only true green I've ever seen is patches on marbled bettas, so the ones your lfs will be getting in will probably be a greenish turquoise.

They're gorgeous! Lovely butterfly boy, is he the one who died or have you still got him? Definitely a turquoisey green though, not the emerald shade of those daft yellow-filter pics.
