Bloodworm pellets are staining my water :(

Post by Mutsu on Tue Nov 30, 2010 10:28 pm

I'm feeding my 6 Pygmy Cories approx. 3 small bloodworm pellets per night but they're making my water look really red and yucky Sad Is there anything I can do or some form of alternative?

Maybe just feed 1 and crush it so you can spread it out. Its likely that there sitting in the water uneaten for to long so there braking down.

I tried that, but instead of sinking all the bits just float on the surface and my betta eats them xD

I would switch to algae pellets. Bloodworm pellets are probably a bit rich in protein and lacking in other nutrients really, and catfish benefit from a high level of vegetation in their diet. Algae pellets sink and stay sunk, and don't stain anything.
