Fizz to the vet

Post by Nataliey on Fri 26 Nov 2010 - 16:28

I had a phone call from my gran last week to tell me my 10 year old black cat Fizz is starting to get a cloudy eye, im taking her to the vets at 6pm tonight hope they dont say she's going blind but i think thats what they say Sad I know they can manage with just one eye but i do still feel sorry for her.

Il let you all know how she gets on.

I think it would okay to feel bad about it, but not sorry for her. I'm sure she'd
rather have an extra treat or two! Plus you don't know how her vision has been recently up until
now. It could have been failing for a period of time and is now just showing obvious signs.
Thats my opinion for what its worth.

Well, got back from the vets and the vet asked about other animals she lives with so i told her about 2 younger cats who are very playful and the vet said Fizz has a scab in her eye due to an injury thats happened a while back & the way it tries to heal itself is to turn a cloudy white colour. The vet opened Fizz's eye widely so i could see, she confirmed that she wasnt going blind...phew!

But when i spoke to my Gran about her she said that she likes to sit in the window to look outside and my gran has cactus's in the window and could be that!

So eye drops where given to me to put in 4 times a day what i wrestle thats going to be! She was naughty to the vet as she growled at her and wouldnt keep still.
Have to take her back in a weeks time to see how her eye's getting on.

Had to take Fizz back to the vets on saturday just to check how the weeks treatment went and the vet said her eye looks a lot better not as cloudy but scab in her eye still there, no gooey ness round her eye so infection has gone. She had some dye put in her eyes to see if anymore damage showed up but thankfully it didnt.

Only have to take her back if the goo comes back so then she would have to have an op to peel the scab off her eyeball.
